Volunteer Opportunity Spotlight – Mason Creek Invasive Plant Removal
The historic Mason Creek Trail in Leander is overrun with ligustrum, chinaberry, tallow, and more. Join us on Saturday, August 15th to help clear them out to make room for natives and to expose the beautiful, year-round creek that gives the trail its name!
We will be using hand saws, loppers, and other tools to cut away invasive brush and drag it to a trailer for disposal. There is A LOT of it. This will very likely become a recurring opportunity (monthly) pending approval from the City of Leander. Please bring your own gloves, water, and sun protection. We will have tools but feel encouraged to bring your own if you would like.

- Come and go as you please, don’t feel compelled to stay the entire time! We’ll be there from 8:00 until 11:30 am.
- Cutting and hauling brush will require somewhat strenuous work
