New Fox & Coyote Project in Travis County BCP

New Fox & Coyote Project in Travis County BCP

New Volunteer opportunity on the Travis County BCP

Interested in canids? There is a new research/volunteer opportunity at Travis County BCP working with a scientist from Texas State University: using camera traps to collect data on coyote and fox presence in densely forested areas of the BCP.

If you are interested, training will be conducted in small groups outdoors and masked depending on the current COVID stage. Training will take place in February 2022 and will cover all aspects of the project, including camera operation, site selection, data processing, etc.

Once trained, the project will be a solo/pairs volunteer activity that includes maintaining the camera, cataloging and uploading the photos collected, and occasionally moving the camera.

If you are interested in joining this project, please email Jeremy.hull@traviscountytx.gov to be added to the list for upcoming training.
