Volunteer Opportunity Spotlight: Treefolks

Volunteer Opportunity Spotlight: Treefolks

Volunteering with TreeFolks involves assisting with tree planting events, distributing trees, or supporting educational outreach efforts. Volunteers participate in hands-on activities like planting, mulching, watering, and caring for trees in parks, neighborhoods, and reforestation sites. No prior experience is needed, as TreeFolks provides all necessary training and tools. Volunteering with TreeFolks is a great way to support the environment, meet like-minded people, and contribute to improving Austin’s urban forest.

Here are some wonderful ways to get involved:

🌳 Native Tree Seed Collection Program

Through the Seed to Tree Partnership, volunteers gather seeds from local tree populations for TreeFolks to grow in its new nursery. TreeFolks then plants the trees in the community through restoration projects, Watershed Protection initiatives, and the Neighborwoods program, in partnership with the City of Austin and Austin Energy. For information, see Native Tree Seed Collection Program
