Becoming Texas Stream Team Citizen Scientists

Our 2016 class recently participated in Texas Stream Team training to learn how to monitor and track the health of area streams and waterways.

we-have-questionsTraining includes learning how to use the cool chemical set properly in the classroom, and interpreting the results accurately. Once we have demonstrated that we can use the different devices and chemicals properly to complete the various tests, we head out into the field to apply our new knowledge in the real environment.

Those of us who complete the training successfully become certified Texas Stream Team Citizen Scientists. Thank you to Will Butler from The Meadows Center for coordinating our instruction.
